Discover Blacksmith Custom Builders
Blacksmith Custom Builders was founded in 2016 in response to Fredericksburg’s affordable housing shortage, driven by the town’s unique tourist economy.
The mission is to create affordable homes for local workers, including firefighters, teachers, and service industry professionals, offering stylish, modern homes that don’t compromise on quality or budget.
TJ already had a remodeling company in Fredericksburg and was a skilled seasoned carpenter with expansive knowledge of each phase of home building. His background included 27 years of building production homes as a project manager, and it just made sense to start building homes using the ingenuity of production combined with custom features and style to build a home that was both tasteful and fiscally responsible. Blacksmith Homes remains 100% woman owned.
Maria has years of custom door design and hardware experience along with door & window company management. She’s owned several companies and possesses experience that allows her to work closely with clients making the client feel relaxed and comfortable with their decisions and selections.
What we do
Once the loan amount is understood and underway, we show you a projected topical budget from which selections/options will be guided.
Once financing is underway, the funding (known as a ‘draw’) will start the building process.
First-time home buyers: We can direct you to a local bank for financing if needed.
we meet new people everyday each bringing unique dreams and aspirations and we strive to turn them into reality.
Our 1-2-10-year warranty includes coverage for one year on workmanship and materials; coverage for two years on delivery portions of systems (the wiring, piping, and ductwork in the electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilating, and mechanical systems); and coverage for 10 years on major structural defects.
